Service: A collaboration platform for musicians to share tracks and create music together
The Short Version
We collect what we need to make SyncMuse work. We don't sell your data. We're not in the surveillance business—we're trying to help you stop naming files "final_v7_reallyfinal.wav."
What We Collect
Information You Give Us
- Account details – Name, email address, password
- Google login data – If you sign up via Google, we receive your name and email from them
- Payment information – Processed by FastSpring. We don't store your card details; they do
- Content you upload – Your tracks, stems, comments, and project data. That's the whole point
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data – What features you use, when you use them, how things break
- Log data – IP address, browser type, device info, timestamps. Standard web stuff

We do not collect precise device location. Your IP address tells us roughly where you are (country/region level), and that's it.
How We Use It
- To run SyncMuse – Account creation, authentication, delivering the service you signed up for
- To process payments – Subscriptions handled through FastSpring
- To communicate with you – Password resets, service updates, responding to support requests
- To improve the product – Analytics help us understand what's working and what's frustrating
- To send marketing emails – Only with your consent, and you can opt out anytime
We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
Who We Share It With
- FastSpring – Payment processing
- PostHog – Product analytics
- Google – Authentication (if you use Google login) and minimal ad conversion tracking
We share data with other users only when you explicitly do so—posting comments on shared projects, inviting collaborators, etc.
We have not sold or shared personal information for commercial purposes.
If KST Development is ever acquired or merged, your data would transfer to the new entity. We'd notify you before that happens.
Where Your Data Lives
Our servers are located in South Korea. If you're accessing SyncMuse from elsewhere, your data crosses borders. That's how the internet works.
How Long We Keep It
- Account data – As long as you have an account
- Content you upload – As long as you have an account, plus a reasonable period after deletion to handle backups and edge cases
- Analytics data – Aggregated and anonymized over time
If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data. Some information may persist in backups for a limited period.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. But no system is perfectly secure—anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. We do our best.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccuracies
- Delete your data
- Export your data
- Withdraw consent
- Opt out of marketing emails
You can manage most of this directly in your account settings. For anything else, email us.
Children
SyncMuse is not for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from minors. If we discover we have, we'll delete it.
Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email or a notice in the app. Minor tweaks (typos, clarifications) may happen without fanfare.
